For the second time in as many school days, students had to be secured in a safe location as police investigated a threat targeting the same building.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon, the Montgomery County Police Department issued an alert regarding a threat targeting Montgomery Blair High School.

The latest threat comes after police were called to the building on Friday morning to conduct a similar investigation.

Officials say that the students remaining at the school following dismissal have been placed in a secure location while the department investigates the validity of the threat.

Montgomery Blair High School Principal Renay Johnson said that she issued a letter to parents about the threat on Monday afternoon once police gave the "all clear."

More information is expected to be released.
